The making of “the end of the world” part II
Here’s the second and last video of the second episode in the “The making of” series. I call this one The making of The end of the world. Part one can be found here.
The purpose of these videos is to share my ideas on image capture and image editing. I’m hoping to give you yet another photographer’s perspective on how to approach an image and what to keep in mind.
I was aiming at something like 15 minutes and I spend like an hour last night cutting it down but I only got down to 21 minutes. Well, maybe that’s the best I can do?
Personally I like videos that are a little longer. You don’t have to view the entire video all at once.
Again, I hope you like it and please let me know what you think of both the image and the video.
Making changes as I go along is not easy so I may end up changing the approach in the future.
The next episode can be expected at end of Jan. Christmas is just around the corner and 2010 starts with a week of skiing.
I’ll keep blogging and uploading image to Flickr though.

Hi Peter,
The sound this time was almost perfect.
I prefer longer tutorials than quick ones. We learn a lot more seeing how the artist proceeds.
One thing though, when you are in a menu pannel please give the viewer the data at the end e.g. in the levels pannel, you can say something like: we were at 7 and 250 now we end at 9 and 245. Maybe it’s my eyes but I do not see clearly when you move the sliders and at what point you stop.
I enjoy your tutorials very much.

Hi Peter,
I like Your waterscapephotos very very much!
Very good handling of the light and colors. Like the minimalistic compose aswell. Very interesting to watch your tutorials, You´ve done a good jobb. Looking forward to next FFiM meeting learning more of Your Photoshoptechniques.
I´m very curious about how You achieve the drama in the sky in your untitled picture from Ön? The one with the rusty T-shaped pier. Do You want to share more of Your secrets?
All the best
Regards

Jörgen,
Thanks you very much for your input.
Actually I’m planning on recording a video on that particular image now in March.
Thanks for stopping by!! Btw, I’m going to have an e-book for sale that covers workflow and basic image adjustments for the meeting on the 15th. See you then.
