Last Saturday I had the opportunity to take the formals for Maria and Boon-Li’s wedding. The wedding was held at Idala Gård in the very south of Sweden. The weather was changing quite a bit during the day with a few showers but during the shoot it was dry.

Here’s few images of a wedding shoot a few days ago. It was a perfect wedding and I’m very thankful to Caroline and Kristian for allowing me to be part of and documenting the whole day.

Hope you are doing fine. In this blog post I wanted to show you a before and after. This is not very spectacular but every now and then I feel like I want to do this. I find “before & after” posts of other photographers very interesting myself.

The image above is the final version.

Here is the “out of the camera” file. I do not like the composition and initially I didn’t give this shot a chance. The only reason I did is that it was the only sharp shot out of the 10 or so that I took. It was a fairly windy day.The image right next to it is how it look coming out of the raw converter.

I didn’t make a huge changes in the raw converter (LR 3). WB, a little bit of darkening and some sharpening. That was it.

Once I got the file over into PS I started working on the composition. I did a few things to make it a little better.

1. I changed the aspect ratio of the image. I don’t like the standing 3:2 format but I love the 4:5.
2. Using Warp I made the main flower and the whole image a little bit more dynamic.

I used a few curves and levels adjustment layers to further darken the bottom and top.

Then as a final step I used Kuler to add a little bit of magenta to the three flowers and other small parts of the image. I sampled a point in the green foliage and used that to get the complementary color.

Anyway, that’s it for today.

It’s been a while since I last posted something on my blog. I have been taking a time off from photography. Needed a break. Hopefully I can get back again… Well, I have two weddings coming up so to be honest I don’t really have a choice…

Anyway, this is Ida, my daughter, looking up on her crock backpack. Hope you like it. i took it for an assignment on TMELive.com. The theme for the assignment is GREEN.

Thanks for stopping by. The image above shows my daughter dancing. I borrowed a lovely Nikkor 105 f/2 lens from a friend and decided to shoot Ida.

The light was very low, 1/4 sec @ f/3,5, so the images weren’t that great because of the blur. I then realized that I could use the slow shutter to my advantage and asked Ida to start to dance. As you all know – a little bit of blur is a mistake, a lot of blur is artistic . This is what happened here.

It’s been a while since I last posted something on my blog. Well, I’ve been very busy with work, family and photography (and running ).

I also took the opportunity to shoot Ida, my daughter and her other cousin Hugo. These two 2,5-year-old’s are amazingly funny. Every time they meet they start running. I got them to stay reasonably still for a few seconds. If you look at these images large you see they are not critically sharp but I don’t care.
